Project complete

Firstly, apologies for this very late update, no excuses I was just busy!  But that’s it!  Windows 7 is now fully deployed into the operational environment within Data#3.  All users have had their installs completed by our Project Sponsor’s requested date of 09/09/09, albeit a few stragglers that can’t be done at this stage due to vendor specific software currently in use that can’t be supported under Windows 7 at this stage or users that are out on customers’ site and are unable to connect to the Data#3 domain.

The installs went in fairly easily but you can read the full technical update from Shaun Duncan for any technical issues that he came across.

My main issue, if you can actually call it an issue, was with the users install scheduling.  Some users either did not accept any installation date from their choice of nine offered and not offering an alternative, or users accepting all nine options?!?!, but most users were able to have their installations completed on or around their proposed date.

Thank you everybody for following the Data#3 migration to Windows 7.  I hope this blog has proven interesting or beneficial to you especially if you are thinking of installing Windows 7 in your workplace.

Take care, Drew Logie
